Naoko
With paradise as the setting for her brilliant canvases, fine
artist Naoko creates extravagantly dramatic compositions
featuring elegant, classical women in the
Modigliani-Picasso mold alongside graceful zebras, colorful
toucans and regal jaguars against backdrops of swaying
palm trees, magnificent orchids and plentiful tureens
yielding fruits of exotic harvests.
Allowing oneself to become enveloped by a Naoko painting
is to taste the mangoes be chilled by the ocean breeze and
warmed by the glow of the tropical sun.
An ever present theme in Naoko's work is that of a woman
at ease with her body and at one with nature, such as in
"Woman with Panther", where the symbiosis between
woman, panther and mango seems simultaneously
provocative yet a completely natural occurrence.
Educated at the Nihon Gakuin in Tokyo, Japan, Naoko
worked as a graphic designer before moving to The United
States in 1982. Almost immediately, her unique primitive
naïve signature style garnered impressive awards and a
prestigious Certificate of Excellence from Art Horizons.
Hailed by critics and museum curators for her stylized
imagery and vibrant palette, Naoko has exhibited in
numerous shows. Her originals are sold exclusively through
galleries in New York, California, Hawaii and Key West.
